Day 2 of three — Sunday 8 November 2026, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm.
This is the second of three Sunday mornings making up our Introduction to Dinghy Sailing Course, which runs on 1, 8 and 15 November 2026. The course is taken as a whole rather than as single sessions.
The course introduces you to sailing small dinghies: open boats with no cabin, 2.4–5 m (8–15 feet) in length. Across the three mornings it covers basic sailing theory, knot tying, rigging, launching and retrieving the boat, helming, reading the wind and trimming sails, tacking and gybing, and capsize recovery — with both onshore theory and on-the-water instruction.
Be aware that sailing can be very weather dependent. If conditions are unsuitable for sailing, we may have to make other arrangements.
Course fees are $340 for adults and $200 for youth, covering all three mornings. Fees include club membership for the 2026/27 season, so you can take part in club racing on Sunday afternoons.
