Notice of Race - 2023

This, the 25th running of the Navigators Cup, is a unique offshore race commemorating Australia’s historical sailing links with Botany Bay – our first port.

It celebrates the outstanding achievements of those great navigators, Lieutenant James Cook and Le Compte Jean-François Galaup de La Perouse, both of whose remarkable explorations and navigational feats around the oceans of the world are epic sagas, and Captain Arthur Phillip. The latter brought out the First Fleet in 1788. All three and their ships entered Botany Bay. La Perouse and Phillip were coincidently there at the same time.

The race for divisions 1 & 2 yachts will start at the Bass and Flinders Monument at the Port Hacking Estuary.

Yachts in Div 1 offshore will race to the captain Cook Buoy, then to Wedding Cake Is, and to the finish in the Port hacking.

Yachts in Div 1 inshore and Multi Hulls will race to the captain Cook Buoy, then to Wave Rider on starboard to the finish in the Port hacking.

Yachts in Div 2 inshore and Cruising will race to the captain Cook Buoy and return to the finish in the Port hacking.

Echelle will race three sprint races as per CSC weekly race program

There will be great spectator viewing from the headlands of Cronulla and along the coast from Cronulla to Bondi, and return
