SailGP OCEAN SCHOOL INVITE

Hi Members,

as everyone would be aware PHOSC has partnered up with SailGP Team USA for the upcoming 2021 event (Fri, 17 Dec 2021 – Sat, 18 Dec 2021).

As part of our association with SailGP, they are offering our younger club members (9-16 years of age) the opportunity to participate in "SailGP Ocean School Invite"

Any young sailors, siblings, or members children are invited to attend the SailGP x Parley Ocean School. In partnership with Parley, Sail Sydney, and the Australia Team, the Ocean School is taking place for 40-50 youth sailors between 8 am and 10 am on Saturday 11th of December at Woollahra Sailing Club.

The unique program blends ocean awareness, immersion, and activism with the goal of empowering a new class of ocean guardians, amongst our sailing youth. 

·       Age demo: 9-16 

·       Activities on the morning will include:

o   Introduction to Parley For The Oceans and their AIR strategy; Avoid, Intercept & Resign 

o   Q&A with the Australia SailGP Team on their careers and mission to promote a greener future for the next generation of Australians

o   Microplastic beach walk

o   Upcycling session 

Members of the Australian SailGP Team will be participating on the day so it’s a great chance to meet the sailors, ask them questions, grab a photo and learn about why they are passionate about protecting the oceans.
