Dear club members,
The PHOSC Committee are pleased to announce that our sailing season will commence this Sunday, 17 October 2021.
In accordance with the NSW Government Covid rules that came into effect on Monday 11 October, the following arrangements will apply to club racing until further notice:
- In order to meet current requirements that groups be limited to 20 or less, the Heron and Open fleets will start at 1:00pm and 1:10pm respectively and the NS14’s at 1:45pm
- Herons and open fleet boats to be rigged on the southern side of the deck and NS14’s on the Northern side
- The clubhouse will be open but the number of people allowed to enter at any time is limited by the 1 per 4M2 rule
- Facemasks must be worn inside the clubhouse by everyone aged 12+
- Whilst outside the club the groups of 20 rule applies
- All people entering the clubhouse and/or racing MUST register via the Service NSW app. A QR code will be displayed at the club
- IAW with the current legislation, only DOUBLE VACCINATED members and members 15 years and under can attend the club and participate in racing
- Unvaccinated members over the age of 15 cannot participate in club racing or enter the clubhouse until further notice
- The existing race calendar will apply until further notice. This means that Sunday’s racing will be as per the calendar for 17 October. The race committee will later consider whether the calendar needs to be amended to include catch up races
- Unvaccinated children 15 and under can attend and participate in racing
- Everyone 16 years and older attending the club must bring evidence of their vaccination status with them and show it to a club official upon request
- If you would like to pre-register your DOUBLE VACCINATED Covid-19 status before arriving at the club, please email a screen shot of your vaccination certificate to: PHOSCmembership@gmail.com
The canteen will be shut until further notice, so BYO food at this stage.
It is expected that further easing of restrictions will occur when the vaccination rate reaches 80%, at which time these sailing rules will also be amended.
